About ‘The Wait’ & ‘The Roar’

‘The Wait’ and ‘The Roar’ are charity poetry fundraising anthologies. All proceeds go to Cancer Research. The project uses social media to reach as many poets as possible and ask them to donate some of their work; the result is a refreshing mix of modern poetry by writers of all walks of life and all round the world, coming together for a great cause.

The Roar is a work in progress, while ‘The Wait’ was released in 2014 and is still on sale here.

Looking To Get Your Poetry Published?

We are currently taking poetry submissions for ‘The Roar’, and we will be until 5th August 2015. This is a great opportunity for all poets, from newbies to experienced writers, to see their creative writing in print. Although we can’t pay our poets (we wish we could!!!) we can guarantee that every penny made goes directly to charity. This is a completely independent poetry project, and everyone involved – from editors to proofreaders to web designers – are volunteers. The only costs we need to cover are from the manufacture of the books, and once that’s covered, every penny our poets make goes directly towards fighting cancer.

How You Can Help

Cancer research fundraising is close to the hearts of everyone involved, and we really put our pride on the line to get this difficult project kick-started back when we started compiling ‘The Wait’. The project was more successful than we ever dreamed, and we were able to hand a bucket of cash to our chosen charity – and it was all because of our followers and supporters on our blog and social media. Now that we’re doing it all over again, we need your help more than ever.

It’s hard, it takes a long time, and not everyone’s charity missions are successful. So please – like our blog, check out our new Facebook Page for ‘The Roar’, tell your friends, spread the word. We’re also on Twitter and all support is appreciated!

All our poets retain all rights to their work – so no stealsies.
